Question Due to slow leak & replacing low side schrader valve, the system needs recharging. Do I need to add refrigerant oil to system? If so, what type and how much would you suggest?
Answer Yes, oil should be added. I recommend having the system charged professionally, this is the only way to evacuate the system to remove moisture and contaminents. Charging it yourself it is hard to get the correct amount, and this method will leave plenty of air and moisture in the system that will affect performance.
