Question
I thought my battery was going bad, had a jump start.  car was really sputtering with the accelator floored.  tow truck driver said it sounded like I "blew a rod".  what does that mean?

Answer
if it is making a loud noise it means you blew up your engine what size engine do you have it it is a 2.0 single overhead cam you probably dropped a valve seat and might be able to replace the head but the intake will have to be cleaned out very well because one piece of metal trappen in it will cause it to happen again. it is still expensive though. probably around a thousand dollars or a little less-
