Subject: Ford Van changing spark plugs

Question
I have a 1999, Ford Van Econoline E250, heavy duty, 5.4 engine.  Where are the plugs located and how do you access
them?
thank you
Richard

Answer
pull engine cover off and breather assembly i believe you have eight coils on this engine and the plugs are underneath each coil-if you have a lot of miles on this engine you may find the plug boots hard to get off-if so pull coil off of boot and spray wd40 down hole in boot gently grasp boot and push down and let up this will let lube work down around plug-be sure and torque correct we get a lot of these with stripped plugs and it can be very expensive if head is damaged. patience, patience, patience cannot be stressed enough.
