Subject: power steering fluid

Question
I have a 1998 mercury mystique v6 I need to add power steering fluid to my car manual states I should add "mercon" so should I buy a qt of atf mercon or buy power steering fluid?  what is the difference I see a number of containers of power steering fluid stating they work in most american vehicles fluid is clear.
Thanks for the help

Answer
i would but the mercon but buy a name brand there is differences in quality fluids and if it is to cheap their is a reason-i have no problem using power steering fluid still name brand. as far as the differences i believe motor or motorage magazine addresses some of that within last couple of months you might be able to google that.
