Question I owned ford escort clx 1.6 1991 which currently under repair, the mechanic told me that it needs to top overhauled, can you provide me the list of parts needed for this process along its availability. and iif in case some parts may no longer available in the market what are my alternatives. as you know this ford model was never been available in the philippines.

Answer Sorry but this engine was never used in canada or the united stats, the excorts down here use the 1.9 liter SOHC engine, But for top end repair i am going to assume you mean a head or head gasket issue. with that you will need a gasket kit, timing belt and water pump should be replaced. thermostat and gasket. and if necesary the head be replaced. flush out the cooling system and do an oil change. I dont know where you are from but in here in Canada most aftermarket sources can easily have parts available within a couple of days from different sources.
