Ford Repair - 91 f150 getting fuel problems

Expert: James - 10/17/2009

Question
Hello there. We have a 1991 ford f150 with 5.0 EFI. Up to this point no problems. Last night husband drove to store Long story short. The truck would start(barely) but does not stay running without pushing throttleing. The fuel pump seems to be working and we found gas in the fuel lines.( assumeing maybe water in lines or tanks). We have just about thought of almost everything. We just would like to have an idea what else to try. preying that its not a major repair job. Thank you for in info u might have. Thank you the worried Neal Family.

Answer
How does the truck drive though? Is it just having issues idling? If so, clean the idle air control valve and throttle body. Instructions are in several replies by myself. If it is having trouble running and idling, test the fuel pressure. You may have a faulty fuel pump, if it doesn't run good nor idle properly.
