Ford Repair - sensors

Expert: James - 10/20/2009

Question
i have a feeling that I need to replace my speed sensor. I have a 94 ford explorer limited. Where can I find the sensor? thank you and have a nice day.

Answer
The speed sensor on your Explorer mounts into the transmission, as if it was a speedometer cable. If you have worked on an early model rear wheel drive vehicles before, this should be an easy fix for you. As far as I can tell, that year Explorer did not have ABS, and did not utilize wheel speed sensors, thus you just have a speed sensor.
