Ford Repair - carbon buildup

Expert: Tony Florence - 5/21/2009

Question
2005 powerstroke diesel black smoke and carbon build up  in turbo what causes it?

Answer
Hello Deb, Sorry for the delay Internet problems. It is probably a sticking/plugged EGR. If your vehicle is under 5 years or 100,000 miles it may be covered under the power stroke warranty on the engine. Also make sure to keep your fuel filters changed consistently, see allot of issues with fuel. Hope this helps Thanks Tony
