Ford Repair - water leak ranger 3.0

Expert: James - 6/6/2009

Question
I have a water leak on drivers side behind the exhaust manifold.  Is there a freeze plug in this area.  Very hard to see, but it is a straight stream of water/antifreeze spraying out.

Answer
There are freeze plugs on both sides of the block, so yes. The culprit is probably a freeze plug, but don't rule out everything else. The odds are relatively low that it is a heater hose, most of them are on the passenger side. You will more than likely need to have the truck on a rack/lift to properly get to the plug. That means that you need to have the truck towed. Hopefully, you have not driven the truck much, if so, you risk catastrophic engine damage.
