Ford Repair/Buying a used Ford E250 van

Question
Hello Erik,
I am emailing you becuase I have some concerns about a van I think is set at a very good price considering I may need to sink $1500 into it to get it into top maintenance condition for an older van.  Following is a list of concerns I have a would appreciate some feedback as to what the problem might be and a ballpark figure of how much these jobs usually cost to fix.

1.  Radiator is leaking (I figure if it needs to be replaced - $400)

2.  Grease and oil build-up around a box where the boot of a suspension rod fits into as the other side connects to the driver's side front wheel mount.  It may be a boot - I don't know what the box is. (I guess at $250)

3.  Cracked windshield ($175)

4.  Valve cover gasket area - a little oil build up on the engine - The guy said someone told to replace the valve cover at $150.  (I figure both gaskets should be replaced at $250)

5.  Sliding rear door does not open from outside (I figure I could play with this one after I get a part - $50)

6.  No radio - (Used $50)

Car was a comcast cable company vehicle in the past and the transmission has been replaced but the guy said a mechanic told him it was slow or something of that nature.  When I drove it the van felt sturdy and smooth.  Tires, exhaust, suspension and brakes seemed to be OK - I didn't take the tires off.  I was planning on having a mechanic check it out before I bought it.  It is a 98 Ford E250 with 148K miles - I think it might be a V6 - I didn't count the plugs.  It is a contractor special.

I would really appreciate some feedback on the information I have given you.

Thanks,
Toney

Answer
Hello and thanks for the reply...I'll try to help.
Do yourself a favor.....DO NOT buy a used ComCast truck. I worked on them at a repair shop when they were a different company. They kept the same trucks in service and beat the hell out of them. No amount of money is worth your aggrivation and time.
