Question Vehicle would not start with my wife's key that she has used for 7 years! but would start with my spare key, and ran fine. Can I re-program her key to work?, or am I at the mercy of the Tallahassee, Fl. Ford service shop? I only own two keys to this vehicle, with one not functioning at this time. Can I do anything myself??
Signed, necessity-type home mechanic, Jack
Answer Unfortunately the only way YOU could program another key is if you already have two programmed keys. Check with some local indy shops, many now have the scanners or equipment to program keys and might be a little cheaper. I haven't checked with locksmiths to see if they can program or not.
