Ford Repair - Replace window's motor for Ford Expedition 99

Expert: Dennis W - 6/17/2006

Question
HI...

How can I replace he driver side window's motor for Ford Expedition 99.
I tested the signal and found the motor is bad.
I already took the door panel out.
Can you help.

Thanks.

Salah

Answer
Here is the procedure, the "dimples" are on the metal surface of the inside of the door. With the waterscreen off you can locate the motor to help you tell where the dimples are. Drill holes then use a socket to remove window motor bolts.

Front Door Window Regulator Motor
Removal and Installation

Raise the front door window glass to the full up position.
Remove the front door trim panel.
Remove the door speaker.
Position the watershield aside.
CAUTION: Make sure the electrical connector is positioned aside before drilling.

To access the power window motor bolts, use a 19 mm (3/4-in) hole saw with a 8 mm (1/4-in) pilot to drill three holes at the existing drill dimples on the door.

Disconnect the front door window regulator electrical connector.

Remove the bolts and the front door window regulator motor.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Cycle the window glass to make sure the gears engage
