Foreclosure/Foreclosure

Question
I have just been served with foreclosure papers.  I spoke to the mortgage co. I knew I owed 5600.00 but they said that the attorney fees for the filing are 7400.00. This leaves me with a grand total of $13000.00. They said that they would allow me to make 3 very large monthly payment to catch up.  Is there a way to negotiate the large attorney fees.  This seems to be a lot!

Answer
Contact your local city, county or state.  There should be a link from the HUD site, the Federal Govt site which lists help for home owners.  Search, "foreclosure help .gov"  Make sure you look at sites with the .gov.

You can also try calling the lender to see where that gets you.
