Question
Hi Terry,

It is I, Nat again.  I wanted to share with you our experience in Stockholm and France.  We returned on Jun 27 after a 10 day trip to these wonderful destinations.  Your guidance was invaluable.  Stockholm is a beautiful city and the VASA museum is a must see for everyone.  The boat ride around the archipelago was very refreshing after an overnight flight.

The French countryside is simply beautiful.  We spent a day and a half in Normandy between the WWII beaches and Mont St. Michel.  I wish we had spent another day.  We were particularly impressed by the way the French have preserved the German bunkers/guns in Longues-Sur-Mer and the numerous museums that house the variety of war machinery.  We also visited Loire Valley and took a tour of a winery. We found the French to be very polite and helpful.  I must say that the French have been unfairly branded as rude and unfriendly.  I learned enough French phrases to get around but most of them spoke English upon learning that we were visitors.  Those that didn't speak English made the effort to find someone that spoke English so that we could be helped.  Overall, we had a great time and thank you again for all your tips on food, places of interest, modes of transportation etc.  We rented a car in Paris and drove to Normandy and Loire Valley.  BTW, the hotel recommended an Italian restaurant on St. Jacques Blvd (10 min walk from Marriott Rive Gauche).  The food was unbelievably good.  You may pass on this info to other tourists.

Merci Beaucorp
Best Regards
Nat

Answer
Hi . . . again . . . Nat!

Glad that things worked so well in both Stockholm and France.  It sounds like you had a great time, including discovering that the French can be very friendly and helpful.  That has been our experiences over the year, especially if you have the attitude on your end.

THANKS!  Terry Casey
