France - Auto travel Aix en Provence to Sarlat

Expert: Carla Polastro - 9/28/2009

Question
Carla:

We have 8 days to tour Southern France, starting in Aix. We wish to travel the most picturesque route from Aix to Sarlat, along the Mediterranean, through the Gorges du Tarn. If there is something of significance in the Languedoc we'd like to know about it. We are not rushed and will be flying out of Toulouse on 31 October.

Answer
Hi John!

In Languedoc, you shouldn't miss Montpellier, Nîmes,  Perpignan, Carcassonne... Near Sarlat (which is just lovely, and all that foie-gras...:-)), the magnificent gardens of Manoir d'Eyrignac are a must-see, imho, http://www.eyrignac.co.uk (even though October isn't the ideal month to visit them, I'm afraid).

Have a great time in Southern France!

Carla
