French Horn/Getting a used french horn

Question
I was looking at some used french horns for sale and cam across a brand I'd never heard of. I was wondering if you could tell me if a Reynolds Contempora double french horn is a good one or not. Thanks!

Answer
Hi, they were manufactured in the 1950s and 1960s, and are very solidly-built instruments. The full double horn has a very large bore and was popular among pros when large-bore horns were in vogue in the 1970s and 1980s. So if that's what you're looking at, it depends whether you see youself playing a large-bore instrument (advantages - more sound for less effort, disadvantages - difficult to centre notes and control in quiet playing and in the high register) or not.

How much it costs would be another consideration - got a link to the advert?
