French Horn/Olds L.A. French Horn

Question
I recently acquired an Olds Los Angeles double French Horn serial No. 82459 and cannot find any information regarding this instrument. The horn is in remarkable condition considering it's age (pretty old I'll bet) Any information that you might have will be very useful and appreciated.  Thank you.

Answer
Hi, the serial number would appear to date this to 1952. Production moved from LA to Fullerton in 1954 so it has to be before this date.

Do you have any pictures of your horn?

There's some mostly trombone-related Olds info here: www.itsabear.com including a early 1950s catalogue with a picture of an older model horn on the front. www.itsabear.com/Olds_Docs/Olds_Late_LA_Catalog.html

Send me some pictures if you have any...
