French Language - use of subjunctive

Expert: Denise Pepin - 11/3/2009

Question
Hi again Denise Pepin,

Does "whether I go or not" require the subjunctive? Is it "que j'aille ou non?," and finally, is there some way you can tell me how to pronounce both "aille" and the past subjunctive "ait." I listen for them on the radio, but I am not sure I've heard them.

Sorry for the loaded question.

Thank you.

Mike

Answer
Bonjour Mike,
You are right  (vous avez raison)
It is "que j'aille ou non."
Now, as for the pronunciation, aille
pronunce in English

"by" without the "b"
"my" without the "m"
"sigh" without the "s"

and if you speak Spanish = "ay ay ay ..."

easy, really :-D
Bye  (without the "b") :-DDD

Denise
