-Il battait la me(a)sure.—THIS IS AN IDIOMATIC EXPRESSION THAT CANNOT BE TRANSLATED LITERALY.

-La cours suprême a cassé l’arrêt.—The Supreme court crashed the Appeal. => are you sure that the correct verb is crash? I have checked on the internet and they suggest "quash" or "reject"; This jargon is too specific for me, so I am not a specialist of this kind of vocabulary.

-La boite au lettres est levée deux fois par jours.—The mailbox is collected twice a day. OK
Ils levèrent le camp le lendemain.--- WORDREFERENCE SAYS : BREAK CAMP, MOVE OUT
SO THEY BROKE CAMP THE NEXT DAY
Il a levé  le pied avec la caisse.--- IS "CAISSE" A COLLOQUIAL WORD FOR "CAR"? IF YES :
HE SLOWED DOWN WITH HIS CAR.
