French Language/liaison ou pas

Hi Caro,

Here is another list of phrases from my readings. Please tell me if you would make the liaison.

qu'il ait été victime
s'est toujours intéressé à
les termes exacts
pris au sérieux
je pouvais être
tu t'es invité à
sous une forme spectrale
à divers usage
ils emploient
je dois aller

I hope this liaison business is not too annoying for you. Sometimes, when I read out loud, the liaisons I make don't sound right.

Thanks, Caro.

Hi Mike

As I mentionned, I read several internet pages on the rules, but they are very complex. So here are the sentences as I would say them as a native speaker, but I am not completely sure that the pronouciation respect the (too many) rules I've read!

I hope this helps anyway

Qu'il ait été victime => liaison
s'est toujours intéressé à => I do not make the liaison...

les termes exacts => liaison
pris au sérieux => I do not make the liaison probably because if I make it, it creates a confusion with the feminine (prise au sérieux). I do not know if this explanation is ok though..

je pouvais être => liaison
tu t'es invité à => I do not make the liaison I think it is facultative
sous une forme spectrale => liaison
à divers usage => liaison
ils emploient => liaison
je dois aller => I do not make the liaison but it seems that you can do it.
