How do I distinguish between the following in French:

What will he become? (as in, What will his trade or occupation be?).

What will become of him? (as in, After all these problems, what's going to happen to him?).

Hi Mike,

"Que va t-il devenir" is the translation of both sentences. In order to disambiguate, you can say
- 1st sentence : que fera t'il dans la vie? OR qu'est ce qu'il fera dans sa vie future?
- 2 nd sentence : que fera t il DE sa vie? Or "que va t-il advenir de lui"
