French Language/make the liaison both times?

Question
Hi Caro,

This morning I read the following:

Son domicile était ouvert ŕ tous.

In speaking, would you make both liaisons, i.e. between était and ouvert, and between ouvert and ŕ?

Thanks.

Mike

Answer
Hello Mike,

Sorry for my late reply.
I thnk you can make both liaisons. But, I would make the liaison only betwen "était" and "ouvert". I do not know why but I think I would not make the liaison between "ouvert" and "ŕ"in order to avoid the confusion between "ouvert" and "ouverte". It may sound as a mistake.

I hope this helps

cheers
