I am happy to answer your questions as best I can. I try to approach questions from readers from my love of fish... and as such I would like readers to know that it is difficult to diagnose fish disease when there is very little detail discribed in questions. For example: My red devil is lying the bottom of the tank... or my shark is changing colors and is now almost white; Etc. There are many reasons why fish would lie on the bottom of the tank and there are a lot of reasons why fish change color... not all of those reasons are due to disease. Usually by the time people ask questions the fish has already been sick for several days and they may or may not have tried medication or some form of treatment. Please include 1) why you think your fish has a particular disease, 2) all of the symptoms of not just your fish but the tank environment as well, 3) What you have tried as a remedy and the results of your efforts. Diagnosing a disease is easier when we have information about the tank because many disease manifest from certain conditions and if we can identify the conditions that may have caused the disease we can narrow down the possibile list of disease to a few and provide you with more accurate informationi. I can answer questions about Cichlids and other freshwater fish. I can answer questions about guppies and almost all community fish as well as goldfish, bottom feeders/catfish/algae eaters, ect. I can help with water chemistry issues, compatability issues, setting up tank, tank maintenance, etc. I love to discuss fish disease, plant disease, and the options available to keep fish alive and healthy. I have a lot of patience and encourage questions from masters and beginner aquariests. I have enjoyed keeping all kinds of fish over the years and would like to be able to pass on to you the love of fish that I have enjoyed...dave

Experience
I have been in the hobby for over two years. I raise and breed guppies, cichlids and goldfish. I also have been part of a fish rescue group that take in fish people no longer want. I currently have 16 tanks at home plus two hosptital tanks, 1 snail tank, and a nursery for plants. I work in an aquarium so I have some experience in other areas that I do not feel I am an expert in. The most important piece of information that I would like to convey here is the fact that I love fish and have for many years been rewarded by keeping fish. I would like to be able to help people share the same kind of satisfaction that I have had from keeping fish.
