Freshwater Aquarium - New tank

Expert: Alex Kline - 5/22/2008

Question
Alex:

I am looking to buy a 20-30 gallon tank with a wide variety of tropical freshwater fish.  I would like to get some combination ideas from you, as don't know what to get.  I would like colorful fish.  I have owned a 10 gallon tank in the past with gourami in it.  That is all the experience i have.  I would also like your opinion on live vs. plastic plants.  Thanks.

Ryan

Answer
I have a great site for you to visit which will show you everything you could possibly want and suggest the rain forest fishes as they would be the most colorful for you and at your level. Here is the site. http://www.tfhmagazine.com/resources/aquarium-set-up/

I prefer live to plastic as it is more natural and the fish can graze on them and give the whole tank a "complete" look.
