Question
QUESTION: For soft water how can I make the water a little harder or will the fish be okay in soft water?

ANSWER: What kind of fish?

QUESTION: Tropical Community, Neon tetras, Zebra Danios, Rasboras, and the Glo-fish.

Answer
Soft water is generally a good thing as all of the fish you mentioned naturally come from softer slightly acidic water. Keep in mind that most domesticated strains of fish can readily adjust to a variety of water conditions(hard/soft/ph of 6.0-8.0) and the fish you have will appreciate the softer water. Make no attempts on adjusting it unless necessary as a fluctuating water quality cn be very dangerous.

Expertise

I can answer most questions on freshwater aquariums involving the biological cycle, live plants, fish compatibility, stocking quantity, feeding, filtration, aeration, water chemistry, and cleaning. I am still learning about some certain diseases and parasites but am more than willing to research any questions that I do not know.

Experience

I have owned multiple freshwater fish tanks over the years. I also help maintain other people’s freshwater fish tanks. I am currently a college student at Minnesota State University Moorhead for a major in Biology and a minor in Zoology. I'm also currently employed at Petco.
