About Karen Fields
Expertise I own and maintain a large number of tanks with many various tropical fish species. During my fishkeeping past I have learned a lot of the myths and truths about tropical fish care. Currently I keep a wide range of species and have a lot of experience in; Severum cichlids, gouramis, platies, goldfish, bettas, tetras, paradise fish, Angelfish, Corydoras catfish, and many others as well as a couple of years with brackish water.
If you have a question on tropical fish keeping I`ll be sure to answer it in the simplest way I can, and if I don`t know the answer, I`ll research the answer for you.
Happy fish keeping!

Question what fish could i keep in a 5 gallon tank
Answer Hi David,
Small fish like tetras (neons, glowlights, cardinals) Otocinclus catfish, male guppies, white clouds, pygmy corydoras would work. But the numbers of these fish must be kept low because water quality can become polluted very quickly in a small setup. Just make sure to stock the tank gradually and keep up with twice weekly 30-50% water changes and a small group of little fish (perhaps 4-5) will thrive.
A single betta with a snail or some ghost shrimp would also do well in this setup. Bettas and other tropical species like the above mentioned (except for the white clouds) need a heater.
Dwarf puffers are tiny creatures also excellent in small setups and have very interesting personalities.
These are just some species you should consider but definitely do some research on them beforehand.
I hope this helps!
Karen~
