AboutMichael Freynet Expertise I can answer most questions on freshwater aquariums involving the biological cycle, live plants, fish compatibility, stocking quantity, feeding, filtration, aeration, water chemistry, and cleaning. I am still learning about some certain diseases and parasites but am more than willing to research any questions that I do not know.
Experience I have owned multiple freshwater fish tanks over the years. I also help maintain other people’s freshwater fish tanks. I am currently a college student at Minnesota State University Moorhead for a major in Biology and a minor in Zoology. I'm also currently employed at Petco.
Question Are dwarf frogs good when traveling in a car or in a plane? Before I buy one (because they will need to travel in car and maybe a plane) I would like to know so I don't have a sick frog!
Thanks!
Answer Hi Lisa,
Keep in mind that this is a fully aquatic amphibian. Even though it breaths air they dry out very quickly and need to in water at all times. Also the water you have it in (much like a fishes water needs) needs to stay clean. So filtration and frequent partial water changes are a must. Keep that in mind if planning on transporting some around as they will not live long if you don't provide filtered clean water. Not to mention a week is a long time to go without any food even for a frog.
