Question
I have a new pair of green terror and she laied the eggs ang when they were hatching she ate them. What does this mean did she really eat them or are they in her mouth

Answer
Hi,
Green Terror's are usually excellent parents. The reason they are in her mouth is because she is a mouthbrooder. She protects the eggs in her mouth to stop predators from eating them. The fry hatch in 3-4 days and are free swimming after 9-12 days, at which time they can be fed Brine Shrimp.  The fry are sensitive to water pollutants and water should be changed often.  They are slow growing until the reach 3/4", when their growth rate accelerates.

Expertise

I know everything about fish disease and illness. I have researched everything i could possibly know about the requirements of most fish. I currently have a 40g planted Discus tank. I decided to dedicate my fishkeeping skills to these wonderful species. I have kept lots of other fish before such as clown loaches, pleco's and tetra's etc. I must say Discus are the best fish i have kept so far. They are so graceful and they all have their own little personalities. Discus are not hard to keep provided their basic needs are met :- Regular water changes, a variety of food such as beefheart, bloodworms, mysis shrimp, dried food.

Experience

I am self-taught and have learned from other aquarist's with the help of the internet. I have read many books from cover to cover about the basic needs and common illnesses in the aquarium.
