Question This is day 3 of my aquarium set up. I had 3 neons (1 died today 4/3/7), 2 harlequin rasboras, & 2 african drawf frogs. As each day progresses my water keeps getting cloudier. Checked ph yesterday was at 7.2. The 4 fish seem happy. I just got the frogs yesterday (4/2/7), 1 seems happy floats around and goes to top, but the other frog doesn't move much at all, staying hidden in or behind a log. Any help you can give would be appreciated.
Answer Hi Julie and I am sorry for your problems with the fish.
It sounds like you never had the tank cycled before you put the fish in, is that correct?
The pet shop should have never sold you fish until the tank was cycled.
The cloudy water you are seeing is high ammonia levels I beleive. Those fish most likely died from ammonia poisoning and you should get your money back. It is sad.
I would do a 50% water change, and if you can find it, buy BIO SPIRA and add it to your tank following the directions. This will cycle your tank.
Don't add anything else they might want to sell you.
Just let me know how things go.
