Freshwater Aquarium/Chalky Water

I have a similar problem with white chalk deposits on the glass. Our water is very hard and comes from chalk streams so changing the water may just add more chalk. I use evolution aqua seed balls in mt tank as you can't over dose with them. The filter is similar to your one as well. Ammonia is fine 0 trace, but the nitrite an nitrate are still a bit high. This new tank has been ruining now for three weeks.

So I assume leaving and doing 15%water changes is the best policy.
