Question
What other species of fish can be kept with Discus fish?

Answer
Hello,

Actually I recommend keeping discus fish with just discus fish. The reason for this is that discus prefer warmer water (80-82 F). This is a little too warm for most other species. If you would still like to try some other fish, bottom dwellers tend to work well with discus. This may include catfish, loaches and plecos. However, these fish should conform to the discus's conditions, and not vice versa. Discus need warmer water more then these fish need their cooler water. Tetras also work well with most kinds of fish, because of their easy going nature. Try to find smaller- mid size ones though so as not to bother the discus.

I hope this helps!

Good-luck,
From Stephanie
