Question
Hello, I have an Orange Tree in my back yard, I am having a severe Problem with the leafs falling and then the limbs dying off. I wish I could paste a Picture of it here so that you could see what I am talking about. I need some help before my Full Grown Orange Tree Dies completely. I don't know if it could be caused from over watering or if its spider mites, leaf miners, or some other Problem. I am just worried sick, I need some help.....PLEASE

Answer
Ok Darlene I will try to help you from here, but you can also contact your local Cooperative Extension Service, the Master Gardners there will be able to help you hands on and for free! That said, no insects would cause the limbs dying off, it is more likely a fungal disease. Have you sprayed it with a Copper Fungicide, this is very important to prevent just this type of affliction.. I would prune of the dead wood, spray it down with some copper, especially the new flush of leaves; the old afflicted limbs and leaves will not benefit from the copper, but it will stem the spread, and the new growth (flush) should be devoid of it. Please look up your local Extension Service (a County gov't office) and they will help you out hands on. Nick
