Question
I am going to be a student at a private Christian college. I am trying to figure out how and where I am going to get the money to pay for it all? Are there grants, scholarships, or other financial aid opertunities for me and where can I find them?

Answer
Kevin,
There may be grants, scholarships and other financial opportunities for you if you apply for financial aid.  The first step is to file the FAFSA form if you are seeking financial aid from the federal government.  The fastest way to complete the form is online.  To do so, visit http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/   Many colleges have financial aid deadlines which are approaching or have passed, so it's important that you complete the application as soon as you can.

To know how much financial aid, you may be eligible to receive from the federal government, visit:  http://www.fafsa4caster.ed.gov/  Please understand that some financial aid is awarded on a first come, first served basis so you may have been eligible to receive some forms of financial aid but not actually receive them in your first year, because you are applying late in the season.

Finally, your college and the community may also offer scholarships and grants that you can apply for.

I wish you much success,
Felicia Gopaul
