Question
Hi, I have a 1996 2.2l S10 that I have recently purchased, and this truck has 7000 original miles on it. I recently noticed a problem that has left me scratching my head. I got in the truck to drive it, It had been running for about 15 or 20 min. just fine, I was crusing at 55mph and all of the sudden had a loss of power. I was in 5th gear and mashed the gas pedal and it would just bog (deep throaty sound from the exhaust), when I downshifted through each of the gears the same problem happened. I pulled it off of the road let it cool for about 2 or 3 hours, got back in it, started it up and it did just fine. I have checked the oil and I did not have water in it, I checked the coolant and did not have any loss, checked the cat con and it was not clogged. This problem only occurs when the engine is at operating temp. What could be the problem? This has left me scratching my head!!

Answer
Hello Shannon have you checked fuel pressure those 2.2l engines are pretty tough I dont think it is anything major wrong with it sometimes when a vehical isint drove enough problems happen with the fuel system in this case I am thinking a fuel pump issue after the pump warms up it may not be up to par thank you!!
