GMC Repair - Fuel Level sensor!

Expert: Tim hagan - 4/18/2009

Question
My gas gauge started moving back and forth making the low fuel light come on.  I filled my tank (yukon denali 02) to full, So I know that wasn't the case, Its been doing this on a regular basis.  I have never seen this before.  In what way could I fix this without going to the dealer?

Answer
In short..unless you have a hoist and have experience removing the gas tank, take to your local dealer.  I personally work for a dealer as a tech, and I am not sure why you would be concerned about taking it there.  For one you will get a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty with your repair.  It will probably not be a cheap repair, hence the part is not cheap, but labor shouldn't be too bad.  really a bummer that you would be so against the dealer.
