GMC Repair - 1999 GMC sierra 1500 Z71 pick up new body

Expert: Tim hagan - 5/15/2009

Question
every once in while the power steering will stop working for a couple seconds while turning.

Answer
you can try a to flush the power steering fluid as there might be debris in it, if that does not work, typically I replace the steering gear and the pump, due to debris from a failing gear will usually cause the pump to fail as well, if you replace both parts make sure to flush the system, you do not want any old debris to take out any of your new parts
