GMC Repair - hydroboost leaking

Expert: Tim hagan - 8/20/2009

Question
QUESTION: I just replaced my hydro boost on a 94 GMC suburban 2500 4x4 454 7.4l. Why does it still leak where the master cylinder and the hydro boost meet? Did I miss something?

ANSWER: well, it should not be leaking, unless its the master cylinder that is leaking not the hydroboost, there are not servieceable seals for the hydroboost

QUESTION: Hi Tim...the power steering fluid is what is leaking, not the brake fluid. Why would it leak the power steering fluid?

Answer
it has power steering fluid going through it, that is what gives you power brakes instead of a vaccum booster, you have a power booster.  If it is leaking I would have to think you got a bum part, I have repaired many of them and never had one leak after replacing it.
