Expert: Tim hagan - 9/10/2009

Question
QUESTION: Yes sir, I have a  2001 buick lasabre, and when I start the car it says my traction light is off.  I had the wheelbearing fixed and since then, I have had this problem.  The only other thing I did was buy new tires.  I hope you can help.  Thank you.

ANSWER: i have seen a lot of aftermarket bearings set codes after being replaced.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: Thank you so much for your time, i need to follow up and ask if this is means
I need to have any work done, or will it be o.k. and not hurt my car?  what do I need to do.

Answer
i would say it is probably safe so long as everything is tight and in place, more than likely its a sensor issue in the hub, where the GM EBCM is not getting exactly the signal it wants so it throws the lite on.  If you just had it done recently it cannot hurt to follow up with the repair shop as they should be making good on the repair.
