Question Hi! I've got a 99 Chevy S-10 Blazer, and the driver-side window is not working. When you try to get it down, the interior lights dim slightly, but nothing happens. I had a mechanic friend take a look at it, and he diagnosed that it was a bad motor, and I was wondering two things. I found a remanufactured "window lift motor" online and wanted to make sure this was the same thing as the motor, and also how hard of a task it is to replace the motor on a 99 Blazer. Any advice or tips you have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Answer Yes it is the same thing, and it isn't too easy if you don't know what you are doing. That does sound like the problem, however I do not recommend doing it at home. The window motor is attached to a spring loaded regulator that can be very dangerous if you remove the motor without knowing what you are doing.
