GPS (Global Positioning System) - Not recognizing our address

Expert: Michael Brower - 9/8/2009

Question
We have had several people inquire as to why we do not show up on their GPS systems.  We have several customers that are from out of state and rely on their GPS systems to get them where they are going. We have been here for over a year so why is it that it still doesn't recognize our address or location and how do we go about fixing this?  Any help will be greatly appriciated.

Answer
I know places that have been there for many years and they still don't show up on PND's.  You can go to http://www.navteq.com and add your business and address to their database. Also to http:/www.teleatlas.com and do the same thing.  But keep in mind that it will take 6 months to a year for the change to make it to new PND's being sold. It won't make to existing PND's unless the users pay for and download new map data.

Mike
