Question What was his back up singers name? The girl who went on to do her own solo albums.
Answer Paula Cole sang backup with Peter Gabriel on part of the Secret World Live Tour (1993-1994). However, Joy Askew sang backup on the first part of that tour, and Melanie Gabriel and Rachel Z both sang backup on the Growing Up Live Tour (2002-2004).
All four women have released solo albums, but since Paula Cole's album, called "This Fire" (with the hit single "I Don't Want To Wait"), was the most commercially successful, I think that's who you have in mind.
