Gambling - Counting and money management

Question
I have learned the basic +1/0/-1 method that was
illustrated in "21," but I do not know what to do with the
count. For which counts should I raise (or lower) my bet or
go away from basic strategy? Also, I tend to play $25 hands
and bring $750 with me (enough for 30 hands). Do you have
any specific strategies for knowing when to stop? If you
were playing with that amount of money, how would you
manage it? Thanks.

Answer
Marc,

first of all, if you watched the movie and now think you have counting down well enough to play  you should think again. There is a mathematical system that goes with counting, and in fact there are two counts used. On a basic level, bets are raised in positive counts and lowered or not even played when counts drop or go negative. To play a $25 table properly, you should have about $1500 with you if not $2000; however, you can get by with $750 if you really play tight. There is quite a bit to learn to count properly.
If I were you, I honestly would sign up for one of my classes. IT is well worth the money to learn from a professional and it gives you live, instant feedback. What city and state are you in?
