Question I'm told Aristocrat changes percentage on a video slot in the paytable rather than in the virtual reel, is this true? Any other maufactures change percentage in the paytable rather than the reel?
Answer Hi Jeff,
Aristocrat, as well as other manufacturers, have various math models for their wide library of game themes. In the last 2 years or so, "ante" bets on the video slots allow the players to buy into bonus rounds not available when covering all the lines in the base game. By placing the ante bet, the payback percentage does increase (sometimes significantly)for the player.
My advice would be to always place the ante bet on these games, or steer clear of them. (Whichever suits your bankroll and the gambling enjoyment experience.) Not everyone likes the same thing, which is why the manufacturers have expanded their math models to incorporate various volatility and betting variations.
