Question QUESTION:
Hello!
I am placing some bets for some coworkers for the Kentucky derby.
I know a 3 horse $1 trifecta box cost $6.Someone had the question concering a $2 trifecta box.Im not sure thats a legit wager.
Can you help?
Thanks in advance.
Frank
ANSWER: Frank,
Yes a $2.00 trifecta box is a legitimate bet, in fact you can place a trifecta box wager for any amount you desire up to the limit, (if any) at the book or track that you are placing the bet.
Hope this answers your question...

QUESTION: Hey Tony...
1 more question...
If I in fact did a $2 tri box would I win the full regular tri price considering a $1 tri box gets you 1/2 the full tri price?
Thanks
Answer Frank,
Yes that is true...the race track pays out on what is called a "mutual wager". On the tote board all payoffs are based on a $2.00 wager...On some of the offshore betting sites, they show the payoffs based on a one dollar wager, but the actual payoff as per the track, is on a $2.00 wager....
If a tri-fecta paid say $20.00 as posted at the track, that would be based on a $2.00 wager, if you had a $1.00 trifecta, the payoff would be $10.00.
