Question
are the indian casinos regulated and why dont they give there payback on slot machines whether it be 79 or 98 where can you find the answer

Answer
Hi Gerald,
Indian casinos are highly regulated. The National Indian Gaming Commission is very diligent in having the various tribal gaming commissions monitor and enforce compliance. (Each tribe has its own gaming commission.) In addition, the California Gaming Control Commission monitors, audits and checks slot machines for regulatory compliance. The software in the slot machines has been verified by an independent testing laboratory.

The California casinos have no reason to skirt the regulations, since the sheer volume provides them a healthy profit.
Think about it this way: if the casino was trying to cheat you, you would never win. Each time, you would have a miserable experience. Eventually, you would never go back. A casino's best advertising is jackpots, and word of mouth about having had a good time.

I know San Diego County requires a minimum 80% payback. Not sure about all California casinos. There is no requirement for CA Indian casinos to make payback percentages public.

I have gone through par sheets of 20 of the most recent game theme releases, and cannot find any program approved in California with less than an 85% payback. An educated guess is that the avg. payback in CA casinos is around 90%. Keep in mind that penny and nickel denominations will be closer to 88% and higher denominations around 92-94%.

Having said all that: I am absolutely comfortable playing in a CA casino. Because I know I am getting a fair shake.
