Question Situation:
Two players in on a pot.
Player 1 raises 2,000 on the river. Player 2 was thinking whether to call or fold. At a certain point the dealer announced-time. When that time was up, the dealer gave Player 2 another 10 seconds to make a final decisionor extra time. At the end of the 10 seconds, Player 2 has not yet come to a desicion, and so the dealer decided to end the pot, forcing Player 2 to fold, and gave the money to Player 1.
Our question is, whether it was right of the dealer to give the money to Player 1 at the end of the time, Or what was to be done at that point in time?
Answer That is the correct decision. If you can not make a decision in time your hand is dead. This very rarely happens in cash games as the guy should really make up his mind rather than letting the dealer do it for him, but it does happen in tournaments sometimes. In a casino card room this is definitely the correct ruling and I urge players to always play under casino card room rules so that everything is standard.
