Gambling/4 of a kind

Question
what are the odds of 4 of a kind on the board?

Answer
Ignoring your own hole cards, the odds of any hand appearing on the board can be approximated by the odds of being dealt that hand in 5-card draw poker with no wilds. The odds of a 4 of a kind are 4165 to 1. (See http://www.durangobill.com/Poker.html).

Taking into account the fact that you get two (known) hole cards in texas holdem, the exact odds of a 4 of a kind appearing on the board are 4175 to 1. I've written up a complete explanation and analysis at my website: http://theonlinecasinogamblingdirectory.com/rules/4k.php

(Thanks to the Wizard of Odds (http://wizardofodds.com/) for his review of my analysis.)

Cheers!
