Game Shows - Deal or No Deal

Expert: John Bergman - 4/4/2006

Question
What is the fomula that the banker uses on the show, Deal Or No Deal?  How does he figure out how much money to offer the contestants?

Answer
Dear Tessa:

To the best of my knowledge, it's based on an amount between the lowest amount on the board that is still left in play and the highest amount on the board still left in play.

For example:

If $500 and $50,000 were still left on the board, the banker would try and make a deal at $10,000.

I hope this answers your question.

Thanks
JOHN
