AboutMiranda Expertise I can answer most questions pertaining to Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis) as well as the medications, surgeries and tests associated with it. I am not a doctor so please don't ask questions that aren't related to this specific area or close to it because it is not my area of expertise.
Experience I have been diagnosed with Crohn's disease for over five years and have dealt with the disease since I was twelve years old. I have been through every medication, numerous exams as well as surgery. I have also worked at a camp for chronically ill children the past three summers and two of our sessions are Crohn's and Colitis so I am very familiar with both conditions.

Expert: Miranda Date: 3/26/2008 Subject: noises from abdomen
Question Hi!
I am 53,in good general health.
In the past couple months I have noticed noises from my abdominal area getting louder and more frequent.
There is no pain, but I am curious to what they may be?
The sounds usually come from where I think my liver/gall bladder are located.
I dont have gallstones.
My diet has improved and is much healthier than it used to be.
I just ate a few strawberries and a minute later heard a very audible gurgling/squishing sound.
Is this a part of getting older?
Have my organs gotten healthier from the healthy diet and now they are singing?;-) THANKS!
Answer Well stomach noises are pretty much inevitable, and happen to pretty much everyone. They can be gas or hunger sounds most commonly. I am sure that your body is happier since you have been eating healthier, and although they may not be singing ;} they are appreciative I'm sure. If the noises aren't accompanied with pain then I wouldn't be too worried. Everybodys stomach makes sounds and music time and again, and its just a part of normal digestion.
