I have been sick for four years w/ stomach pain.  Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota did not solve the problem but did perform the battery of tests within a short week you are looking for. They were very kind, caring people.  I wish you the best of luck.

My son became very ill four years ago.  The local physicians said he was an enigma and could not find the cause of his chronic diarrhea and weight loss.  His stomach pain and diarrhea increase to the point where he looked like a victim from a concentration camp.  We took him to Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN.  Where in three days, after a battery of test, they found that he had a rare auto immune disease.

The doctors back home had never heard of this disease and to this day say that if we had not taken him there we might still be struggling to find a diagnose and treatment for him.

The Best Gastroenterologist in Canada, that I know is:

Dr. Hugh James Freeman of U.B.C. in Vancouver, B.C.

Google his name next to gastroenterology journals, & you will pull up 12 pages of his research.

I please look into the specific carbohydrate diet and the gaps diet. Look into gmos and the rate of inflammation they cause in the intestines of pigs. Canada's canola crop is a huge gmo industry. Cut out all gmos, no corn, no wheat, no canola in anything at all. Look at the gastroenteritis in the Seattle and Portland areas who are doing alternative treatments. They have looked into small bacterial overgrowth and all kinds of tests that go so far beyond normal medicine. If western medicine could fix these issues well they would- you have to go outside of that and use the very best nutrition, science and treatment in combination to fix these things.

I can answer questions regarding reflux, GERD (Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease) and tube feeding in all ages, but even more specifically infants and children.

Experience

As the mother of a four year old who has been tube fed for her whole life from severe GERD, I have spent the past four years living with, and researching the condition. I have created and maintained the website www.infantrefluxdisease.com for the past three years, only to more recently have written the highly acclaimed new book "Life on the Reflux Roller Coaster" (www.infant-reflux.com).
